Inductive double switches (IED) allow the non-contacting and contactless detection of two end positions in order to detect the direction of motion and track length at plants. Serving as position indicators at power clamps they can detect both end positions of a movement.

Due to multidigit contactless sensors (e. g. 8 or 32 digits) substantial savings can be obtained with regard to mounting- and wiring effort. They can be supplied as masters with a field bus-connection such as CAN-Open. Further multidigit modules are contactless switchable as slaves.
